Powderhorn bike park is now open – KJCT8.com

MESA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)– Powderhorn Resort is finally opening up its trails for the summer. All the snow and wet weather meant it took longer to dry out than they expected.

This weekend the resort is packed with a number of special events including a train to hunt regional, women’s and children’s clinics and some live music . The summer weather came a little late in Powerderhorn. About a month ago the resort was having some troubles with the snow-melt. But now their doors are open to the public for the summer season.

“We’ve built mountain bike specific trails, something for all ability levels: a beginner trail, an intermediate trail and an advanced trail. And we have two new trails coming this summer: a new beginner trail and a new intermediate trail, that are slated for construction beginning next week,” says Marketing and Sales Manager, Ryan Robinson.

The resort offers both hiking and biking trails for different experience levels. Twilight Fridays are from 3-7 p.m. for people to enjoy the lifts and take evening rides on the Mesa. To do the lift access, Twilight Fridays are $19, Saturdays and Sundays are $29 and it is free to hike.
