Ridgefield’s Parks & Recreation Department has teamed up with experienced staff from KC & E Adventures to offer mountain biking clinics for adults and classes/camps for children this spring.

Mountain biking is a fun and exciting sport where riders can advance at a pace that is comfortable for them. Beginner and intermediate students will learn skills like braking, shifting and body positioning.

Adults may sign up for one to three clinics, which meet on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lake Windwing. Intro to Mountain Biking is on May 2, Intro to Road & Gravel is on May 16 and Intermediate Mountain Biking Skills is on May 23.

Children ages 7 to 12 can also enjoy the great outdoors through this new program. Classes run from May 1 to June 5 and meet on Saturdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Lake Windwing. Mountain Biking Camp is also available this summer for children ages 7 to 12 and runs from June 21-25 from 9 a.m. to noon.
